Merkmale

Der Carapax von Telmessus wird maximal 83 mm lang. Er ist breiter als lang und fünfeckig. Die Seitenränder sind mit zusammengesetzten Zähnen bewaffnet. Die Schreitbeine haben keine Dornen.cite-ref-poore-2-1[2]

Systematik

Die beiden Arten der Gattung sind:cite-ref-worms-1-1[1]

• Telmessus acutidens (Stimpson, 1858)
• Telmessus cheiragonus (Tilesius, 1815)

Synonyme sind Cheiragonus Brandt, 1851 und Platycorystes Brandt, 1848.cite-ref-worms-1-2[1]
